Unwanted Vistor at the Texarkana Welcome Center

AGFC captured this unwanted visitor at the Texarkana Welcome Center. He was reported to the Staff at the Welcome Center Sunday morning by a gentlemen walking his dog. Lonnie Hazel, Area Maintenance Supervisor, in Miller County, reported the alligator to the AGFC Sunday after church and they were there first thing this morning to catch it. Lonnie said it didn't take long to catch it. The gator was over by the edge of the pond nearest the Welcome Center. When they spotted the gator he swam ahead of the boat about 20 feet and stopped, then turned and swam back toward the boat. They netted him at that point and that was all there was to it. The gator measured 5ft 8 inches long.
